jean harlow me!

classic black and white photos, pearls, updos, flapper dresses and silent movies. things that come into mind when you think of the 20s and the 30s. in between these periods, as history would have it, started the jazz mania, the platinum blonde leading ladies and the never-ending mgms and paramounts about happy endings and knight-in-shining-armours.
in my eyes, it was a generation of the refined and the regal. joan crawford eyebrows meet the dusty abandoned fields. it was both chaotic and theatrical. and oh, the dresses, the dresses! laces and my forever love- the drop waist.
drop waist is the low waist of dresses...it is dangerously unforgiving. don't consider it as a foe yet, with the right fabric and the right fall, it will do wonders to your everyday wear. the leftmost image will best suit the petite ones, the cut is above the knee and the waist is not cinched. the remaining three are for the blessed, haa, hell no. the beauty of the drop waist is you can raise the waist band if you can't pull it down anymore.
you don't need to look like agyness deyn to pull this one off.
a greta garbo stance will do.
