Hung-erian and Co.

Such a food addict right now, i have to get back to shoes na! or bags??!! hmm to cover the flab hehe

short stop..

If you're living at the south side, i mean further south, waaay south, try Sta. Rosa:) it's hard to find that good ol deli shop, you know, ala Hamptons style, wherein you can just drop by, anytime of the day, buy slices of prosciutto for your pasta dish, et al. Hmm Barefoot Contessa, heart her by the way:)

So it's such a relief to find Earle's at Westgate, not that am planning to cook anything..ummm i dunno how to cook:) The thing is they have the best hungarian sausage!! try it.. it's soo spicy.. hmm just right:)

Next time i'll spend my day there, try other sausages and deli treats. I have to bring my shoe appetite back man!!!

coffee spoons and afternoons

Don’t you just love long drives…especially if you’re not the one driving hehe and your just seated at the back, munching on junk, listen to trip-friendly music and just momentarily escape your life?

I just love it when I don’t have company at the backseat and stretch my feet, hug my pillow and look outside, not minding the sun, see the stretch of trees and greens, people walking, think of things that you will do when you get back to YOUR life hehe. Whether it’s just a 30-min drive or an hour, I think it’s healthy to distress once in a while. That moment when you just stop, and drop the things that you’re doing and not mind at all even for that short time to re-connect what you REALLY wanna do with YOU.

A great place to re-kindle your strength of mind is just to get away and never plan where you’re going. Spontaneity, although I’m not a big fan of it hehe, gets you distraught and yet there’s that sense of tick to it that oh yes why didn’t I think of doing that before.

So it was a lazy Monday morning, and I am prepping myself for my work tonight, my mom dragged me to Anihan. Though I super love this place, I was kinda sluggish to go, but the foodie in me said go go go..I went anyway.

We discovered Anihan Technical school years back, my mom’s friend teaches there, this we found out by pure fate. Tucked in the city of Calamba, almost near Batangas, the school boasts of students, mostly less privileged who can do a lean-mean cake hehe. The students are trained for food service, their industry partners include Conti’s, GoodEarth, Cravings, Red Ribbon, Tagaytay Highlands and Max’s.. and a whole lot more. So you get what I mean when I say mean cake huh! Last time I was there, the girls are having their finals on bartending, the place never fail to amaze me!

Things we always look forward to at Anihan?

Walnut brownies!!!!!

and mom's fave, papaya atchara

I love eating brownies outside, the atmosphere's just perfect,i tend to get a li'l sleepy nga lang..heck with all the different kinds of brownies aandd add the food for the Gods, who wound't be?!? the place is so sleep conducive hehe. parang panaginip ang paligid:)

They do bulk orders too, i dunno the terms, you can contact them at (049) 545-5738 or through anihanschool@yahoo.com.

I won't tell you the exact location though baka makita ko pa kayo dun hehe

Enjoy the treats!

PS PS PS PS

A trip to Calamba won't be complete without taking home OKOY!!!

It's shrimp fritters, usually dipped in vinegar. the matakaw in me? I eat this with rice:) sarap!!

...and Binatog:)

boiled corn kernels, salt and coconut. Perfect merienda.

Both treats are found in the streets of J.P Rizal, my mom practically grew up here, she loves afternoon walks after school and waits for the tindera to open round 3 for these yummm afternoon delights:)

Cake me up before you go!

My bad..late post, was caught up on something:)

Since January's my birthday month, all of my postings will be related to my birthday haha loko lang. Promise-promise this is the end of it. At least for this day:)

These are the mini-cakes that I bought last time at Breadtalk. I opted for these since the Monsters Inc. are in Oman already, no one's gonna comsume the whole thing naman. Plus wasn't on the mood on buying a fab cake, hmm maybe on my 30th, haaaah tha't like 4, f-o-u-r years na lang.

Change the subject.

Wasn't it pathetic? Buying my own cake and candle? Nah, who cares. When I blew the candle, the only one present was my kuya, and I forced him to be there to take my picture haha, now THAT is pathetic!

Here's my pretty cakes:

Chocolate cake

Chocolate mousse

Chocolate dome

Black Forest

Of all the mini-cakes, the chocolate cake's the best. It's not too sweet plus I find the granulated sugar thingy on the top amusing.. Coz while eating it, the sugar's flying everywhere, it's like eating polvoron:)

If you haven't tried buying your own cake, I mean choosing it very carefully, try it, even if it's not your birthday. It's soo fun fun.(don't forget the candle!!)

P.S Thanks Ms.Sherly Rempillo (aka soon-to-be 'housewife') for the Sanfo treat you gifted me:) It's caramel-coated apple with sprinkles:)

hehe, corny na.

It's a sunny friday morning. The road's still empty. Sun's just perfect...just the way i pictured it. Better be, because it's my birthday!:)

High-heels torturing my feet, my NFFs (newly found friends) and I headed to our friendly neighborhood coffee house..pshew ang walang kamatayang Starbucks

Still fresh from my BFFs departure, huhuhu, i had my quick fix of Java chip frap and yum belgian waffle with mocha.

And coursie, a picture-taking session won't do no harm hehe. (ahhh too bad Sherly was on SL:(()

to the left, to the left

Jeng, Jayda, Anne, Ayie and Rose

if i were a barista, i would never imagine writing JD this way, tsk, tsk. heck, i never recount a moment when they spelled it right! it's either Jane or Jay.:)

Yum foodie, from chicken empanada( only at Starbucks Phils hehe) to croissant

mantra for all season: NO PAIN FOR THE VAIN!!!

BTW, was at Friday's that afternoon, sad but their Cajun Chicken fingers is made by request. it's not offered on the menu anymore.

And to my horror they're not serving Caesar's salad with Romaine lettuce!!! this was just a plain jane lettuce hehe, eekk.

haay.going back to moi, a year older:(( but prettier hehe

what's ahead for this year? you better be good to me Rat, grrr.

Big girls DO cry!

Scene 1: Indarapatra and her mom (Obdulia)hahaha were at Breadtalk last Friday, January 11. (my birthday) choosing some mini cakes and there it was, a moment of silence..thinking what my sister might choose if she were there. and we went out the store coz i'm about to burst into an embarrasing cry..tissues missing at that time. tsk.

Scene 2: My mom at the car, after we left the airport..details? to funny to tell hahaha, but i was amused that she can cry like that, oh well.

Scene 3: Dad, at the garden, sobbing (according to mom), Cody(the turtle) by his side thinking of his apos coz he was the baby-sitter for all seasons.

Bye Jac, bye Fossil bag!!!!

Jayda, Sage and Japs

The saddest part was they( Ate, Zoe, and Sage) left at the eve of my birthday!!! they're like my BFFs huhuhuhu

Okay calm down Jayda.

They are currently staying in Alkhud, Oman. Where? heck search at Google Earth na lang! Why? My ate's hubby was assigned there for at least a min of 3-5 years.

Us? Eternally sad. I will miss our trips to Tagaytay, i'll miss our breakfasts at the 'nook', ice cream at ministop. Babysitting, kissing Zoe and Sage in the morning after coming from work. And eating their left-over burgers :)

But i am looking forward to my treats and pasalubong!!!! Thank you for the Escada perfume pala hihi

Our house will never be the same again, it's empty and a lot quieter( eeeww getting corny na)

OOhhhh, okay guess i'l be having my 'me' time again. hooorraaayyyy!:)

Take care my pretty Olsen twins!!

PS: my heartfelt thanks to the people who greeted me!! Birthday post coming soon!

Kali Cronia!

How was your New year people? mine's A-ok. New year=new blog posts hehe.

As promised, i headed back to Cafe Med to taste their gyros sandwich and the well-loved Greek desert, Baklava.

..was at the Cafe Med before our trip to the mountains (this was pre-new year) and treated myself with beef gyros and baklava while Jayps a.k.a my bodyguard :) tried the grilled chicken Mediterranean style with rice pilaf.

brown rice pilaf is cooked with a dash of cinnamon, onion and seasoned chicken broth..

baklava is a famous Greek pastry made with filo(or pastry sheet) and layering of roasted nuts..this one has walnut with honey.

beef gyros.. surprising! because it has french fries inside..when the server asked if i wanted fries, i thought it was served beside the dish..not on it! yummy shawarma

P.S. finish up the meal with large orders of Big Chill shakes just around the corner of the restaurant to ward off the oniony smell from the Gyros hehe

and P.S. ii

isn't it amazing? strawberry 'dirty' ice cream ?!?

only in the city of Pines :)

...and P.S. iii

i am loving my cigarette cases here (i'm a non-smoker nga lang hehe)
they're nice to look at coz the theme's old Hollywood ++++plus it's fun to have coz it kinda brings back my childhood days of collecting tin cases from Gift Gate:)

enjoy the weekend everyone!:)
