One Retro Mama!

Last week..

aiming to find out how hard Frugal-Fashionista's job is.. meaning scouring out pieces from clothes to bags of celebs at a fraction of theirs..kinda like Splurge vs. Save saga. Eventually, after an hour, i gave up! boy was it hard! but hey hey hey something good came out of it all. come Retro Mama.
I saw her works on her Flickr account, and i was blown away. I like the kitchy feel of her stuff, kinda like shabby chic meets country style. from aprons to handbags (i especially love love love the pear cushions)

Please do check out Retro Mama or at the link on the right side of my blog.

Sorry Retro Mama for the comparison but i think i'm a budding 'frugal-fashionista' hunter :)

ehem.. Retro Mama's quilted handbag (so cute!)

my take..fab find from SM

so so..not entirely the same but its got the same vibe:)

gotta try shoes next time heehee

Good thang : Pure!

Letting time fly at Tiendesitas (meeting up with peeps later that day sa trinoma: on a friday)with Jayps and Agnes.. strolling, slurping ice cream and hating the afternoon heat ++++ hating the fact that all the overruns stalls are gone. pfft. were have all the cowboys gone?

Still, a savior. Amidst the Bath and Body Works cologne is a fresh shwoossh of air.. courtesy of The Fragrant Pharmacy. The Pure scent is mild and surprisingly refreshing, perfect for THAT hot day. The owners carry the line at the San Benito Farm in Batangas as well.

See, all the good things are mushrooming everywhere, i even got myself a yellow printed dress at U.R.U for just 350! yey me!:)

isang punla

Isang transplantasyong
ang unang punlaa'y malabong teoriya;
isang punlang binuo
ng kintalyon at simponi ng mga atomo.
Ang tawag ni Darwin: Homo sapiens.
Ang tawag ng physicist: human machine.
Ang tawag ko: Ako.
Isang kaakuhang
Isang space craft
sa sangkalawakan na ako ang umuugit
patungo sa isang tanging Bituin
na patnubay ko sa aking paglalakbay
sa aking pagbalik sa Kanya
na dati kong punlaan

Tulaan sa tren

image from thecorsarius.multiply

number of times i rode the lrt: two

first one was this summer of 08
destination: baclaran
emoticon: scared and extatic at the same time!
with: kuya

second one was last August
destination: carriedo-divisoria
emoticon: fun!fun!fun!
with: kuya, rache and jelboy

it was all good. a road trip of some sort. pero sayang dahil isang dipa na lang pala ako sa launching ng Tulaan sa tren.

hindi ako makata pero mahilig din naman akong magbasa ng mga tula..ehem.

Tulaaan sa tren is a project of the LRTA and the National Book Development Board, aiming to re-introduce the almost forgotten beauty of Philippine literature to train commuters via poems, which are now posted in the LRT(was launched mid-August). Passengers will be treated with writings from renowned poets and will be read (some were pre-recorded) by our local celebs from Chin Chin Gutierrez to Miriam Quiambao. How cool is that?! kinda like Loren Legarda's version of Trees by Joyce Kilmer only much more swankier! hindi ka na bi-biyahe ng buong tollway para matapos mo ang tula

example:

I think that i shall never see.....

after 1 km:

a poem lovely as a tree.

shwing----it's your exit na! hehe

See what i mean? honestly, sumakit ang leeg ko dun. I like Tulaan sa tren more. Unfortunately, i seldom ride the LRT, but for those who do, i bet it's a nice experience, how often do you get to hear someone reading works from Jose Corazon de Jesus in a public transportation! tsk.

Doroteo Jose. You'll be taken to a different destination this time.

Good thang: apple corer

i'm smiling ear to ear right at this moment.

you see, i am the official family slicer--whatever that means:)

oh well that just means.. whenever my mom asks for an apple or an orange..she calls her li'l jayda to do the task. she likes her apple sliced and the core cleaned (well i prefer that too ehem , for presentation:)) my tatay on the other hand just likes his apple as it is, so there's no problem with him. sorry mom.

once in a while, it's fine. but if it's everyday it can be quite taxing!

my mission: find an apple corer. my other mission, yung mura lang please!

first stop: Rustan's
price: P1,050. heelleeerrr! period.

and so i'd like to introduce to you my LIFESAVERRRRR!!!!!

good thang found for P79 at Robinson's Lipa, thank you very mucho!

not only does it remove the core, it does the slicing for you as well! very convenient lalo na kung tamad ka hehe.

i can relax now, and munch away to the healthy goodness of an apple.

*wink wink*

what's the skinny?

People. Divided.

Hoards of fashionistas are frowning on Katie's new found look --the baggy, boyfriend jeans...

But i'm definitely not on their side of the coin! It's comfy, laid-back and has that androgynous vibe. I think it's perfect for those casual days..and times when you're at your busiest or just wanna be tomboyish yet have that street chic style.

There's always room for pretty dresses, but sometimes girls just wanna have fun!:) who-ooh--ow just wanna have fun!! heya heya, what's the matter with...ehem.

*wink*

i left my heart in SanFo

SanFo Treats yipee!!

they always say people tend to forget the food at a party, but never the dessert. For a fan of everything sweet.. and everything delicious, i sure won't forget Sanfo treats! from its shabby chic interiors to the delectable and fun treats.. i can spend my whole day here. ah, i wanna be a kid again!

the dessert bar is famous for their caramel apples, and i can attest to the yum factor of it,pero sawa na'ko sa caramel apples so let's give banana a chance please:)

butterfinger frozen banana
eat it fast! i hate it when the banana becomes gooey eewwy

..and of course i'm a forever fan of float, gotta try the brown cow float!

brown cow reminds me of my ate...she always puts one in the cart.

mom and moi

strawberry patch
honestly, i bought this one coz it's sooo cute! but it tasted good as well. it's nice for tea time.

at pag nag-away kayo ng tea time friend mo, you can just throw the pot straight sa face..and RUN!

IT'S A GOOD THING: Red Ribbon's Dulce de Leche

i've seen its TVC a couple of times already, and saw it numerous times at the store, but i always end up buying black forest or choco mocha crunch (as gifts though, it's the most convenient gift 'pag na-invite ka sa dinner the same day, just an hour to go, at hindi mo alam kung ano ang celebration hehe). the other day, a good samaritan decided to gift us a box of Dulce de leche (hindi rin nya siguro alam kung ano ice-celebrate hehe) low and behold, this is the best-tasting custard cake of all!! the creamy custard filling is just divine..not so sweet and it just melts in your mouth! and the cake is so soft, you just wanna dig and dig your spoon (or fork, whatever suits you :))..at malaman mong kalahati na pala ang nauubos mo hehe (ako yun)

don't you just hate it pag walang lasa yung pinaka-cake (chiffon), they just added the icing para maging sweet? this is not the case here! even the sides of the cake, merong sweet crumbs and i super love the caramel in the middle! the best. and it won't break the bank, dahil mura lang:) ..in our case, it was a gift, so it's free hehe.

try it 'pag napadaan kayo sa Red Ribbon, kahit isang slice lang:)

stop, NOOK, and listen!

i am running out of things to talk about.

NOT!

medyo. but one idea came to the rescue. Steve has his thinking chair.

..and i have this.

nothing fancy, really. although a La-Z-boy will be really, really neat! it's our breakfast nook..

umm make it lunch and dinner nook too. we love eating out here. it's a nice place to just read your paper, stretch and slouch:) i love the rays of the sun, birds chirping, mother nature just hollering at me..that's a nice wake me upper hehe. this is a nice spot to think through your To Do list..in my case, there's NONE!!! whoohooooo!!

.. ahh siguro mga one year na rin 'tong space na 'to sa bahay, konting additions, ayos na.

here's a view of the pocket garden

i am digging the fountain, i am not a very Zen person (hmm what's a Zen person anyway!) but the sound of the cascading water is just calming, lulls me back to sleep:) and the little greens add a serene feeling..whoooshhh.

..at para sa mga murang plants..okay sa Tagaytay, pero mas maraming mura sa Silang, Cavite. cute ng mga horsetail at foxtail :)

so who needs a thinking chair when i've got a whole bench!:)

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY INDARAPATRA!!!!!

it's my blogger birthday month!!

so what better way to level it up? a much needed change of layout! i got tired of the old one. i hope ya like it (kinda self-centered with the bold pop art image..just scroll down if it's an eyesore) check out my new gadgets feat bags, pinoy images and the fine arts..in no particular order:)

hmmm a year of blogging, year of talking just about everything, the things i love...and that dull nothings!! from restaurants, to shoes, knick knacks, and ordinary places...and all things nice! it's all fun and it's all good!
i guess it's more about archiving stuff about me, scrapbooking the online way hehe. it's a great feeling when i just browse at my posts, and looking back at things, and reminiscing :) taking pictures at the Sta.Rosa plaza..at night?!!? click this link bibingka(it's in the Nov 07 archive, about puto bumbong and bibingka) yeah, talk about misadventures! it's cool, being your own boss..not meeting deadlines..no one proof reads your work, no one will hate it..errrr or just keep it a secret.

it was my ate who pushed me into blogging..and she's the only one who's reading indarapatra..so why bother hehe.

a toast to Indarapatra! i wish you more shoes, more good finds, good food, just about the good life...and more blogs to come!! join me in my second year please. journey with me as i discover the undiscovered and re-discover the forgotten.

CHEERS!!!

P.S.

pwedeng pwede po kayong mag-regalo:)
